How do you define yourself?

How do you measure your self worth? For many of us, we do this based on the people in our lives or the things around us, for example we define ourselves by the relationship we have with our significant other, or the kind of mother we think people think we are. Or the kind of person we want to be, but don’t think we measure up to. We define ourselves based on whether or not we are in a relationship, or if we have been single for a while.

But we are selling our self short when we do this.

Absolutely no one should be defined by another person or an object. Do not define yourself by the word mother, do not define yourself by the words wife and girlfriend, do not define yourself by the words single and in a relationship. Define yourself by He Who loves you enough to sacrifice everything to bring you into His circle. Define yourself by how the Father sees you, knows you, and loves you. Define yourself or with the words child of God mean. Imagine for one moment the person in your life that you love more than anyone or anything else in the whole wide world, and then imagine that love magnified by an infinite number that you could never calculate, and no that even then, you have not even begun to scratch the surface of the love the Father has for us. If you find yourself struggling through circumstances in life, often times because of how we are defined, maybe it is time to change how we define ourselves, and let that definition flow into the rest of our lives.
